Snow White at Marshall Field's 2004

Once upon a time, in the midst of winter, a beautiful baby girl was
born. She was white as snow with hair as black as ebony and she was
named Snow White.

As Snow White grew up, she became more and
more lovely. Her beauty surpassed even that of her
stepmother, the new queen, who was as spiteful
and envious as she was beautiful.

The queen asked her magic mirror,
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?"
The mirror had always answered quite truthfully,
"Oh Queen, you are the fairest in the land."
But this time was different. The mirror answered,
"Oh Queen, Snow White is she, the fairest one I see.

Enraged, the queen summoned a hunter to get rid of Snow White once and
for all.

The hunter brought Snow White to the deep, dark
woods where she pleaded with him to spare
her life. Taking pity on her, the hunter told Snow
White to run into the forest and never come back.
